DegustiBo is the Province of Bologna’s stamp of approval of high quality promoting the excellence of the Bolognese tradition. The Bolognese territory is among those with the most certificates in Europe: its numerous PDO and PGI certified products also demonstrate the cultural value of a highly important food and wine tradition.

The aim of the initiative is, on the one hand, to reward the companies which champion the excellence of the Province of Bologna and, on the other hand, to be a reference point for citizens wishing to sample high-quality products.

The brand, part of the "Valorizzazione e promozione del territorio" (Territorial Upgrading and Promotion) project financed by the Fondazione Carisbo and registered with the Chamber of Commerce on the 16^th May 2008, is given to companies which pledge to respect established specifications. An evaluation commission, chaired by Prof. Massimo Montanari with experts in the sector and qualified representatives, considers all applications.

Currently there are 84 companies that boast the brand: 18 farmhouses, 23 restaurants, 11 food shops, 10 bakeries, 8 fresh pasta shops, 4 delicatessens, 7 butchers and 3 greengrocers.
